Srinagar, January 10 (KNO) : Paying rich tributes to the slain youth in Chadoora and Kulgam, Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Geelani said that these brave hearts are facing a big power and lay their lives to end the age-old slavery of their nation, putting a huge responsibility on our shoulders to honor these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end. Syed Ali Geelani on Wednesday called as “very unfortunate” the killing of a civilian Khalid Ahmad Dar at Kulgam and blamed the state administration, police and other government forces for “such brutal killings. “saying these forces under well thought out plan are carrying bloodshed. Rejecting the statement of police, Syed Ali Geelani said they are acting as “more loyal than king” and always shield these killers, saying that brute forces are carrying bloodshed and inflicting brutalities on civilians. In his telephonic address to mourners, Geelani while urging people to boycott the “upcoming Panchayat elections”, said that a few people who vote in the election dramas were “not only committing an act of treason, but their actions also act as oxygen for India’s illegal control of Kashmir and added that those elected to power corridors act as stooges and are hand in glow for these oppressors. Geelani said that the few people who vote in election dramas for mere material interests like employment, roads and other facilities were not only committing an act of treason, their actions were also acting as oxygen for the Indian occupation of Kashmir and added that taking part in election process tantamount “to betrayal with the sacred blood of martyrs” saying “any sort of participation in elections would prolong our struggle for freedom”. Paying his tributes to slain youth Khalid Ahmad Dar, Geelani said ‘’Do not think of those who are killed in Allah's cause as dead. Nay! they are alive, and they are given sustenance from their Sustained’’. Syed Ali Geelani while referring to pro-Indian parties, said that they are well aware about freedom sentiments of people, however they through deceit exploit these sentiments, thus deceive common people. They stand exposed, said Geelani while referring to pro-Indian politicians and added that their main aim is to get to power corridors. They are once again playing their cards and their rhetoric about Kashmir issue and its resolution is mere hoax and their age-old deceit, added Geelani, saying it is sheer deception and India portrays these elections as a consent of people in Indian hegemony and issuing misleading statements that people while participating in election have acknowledged state’s accession with India. People in state are pursuing for right to self-determination, saying our religion, faith, cultural, mosques, modesty, future and even social life is not safe, Geelani said in a statement. Blaming police for torturing youth, Syed Ali Geelani rejected the police claims and said that youth arrested in Sopor are innocent civilians and are not related to any militant activities. Meanwhile on the directions of Syed Ali Geelani Tehreek-e-Huriyat leader Bashir Ahmad Qureshi participated in funeral prayers of slain youth in Kulgam and extended condolences to grieved family.(KNO)
